Basic Rifle Training, Certified and Insured.

• Don’t own a firearm, but want to learn the basics? Consider taking Home Firearm Safety.
• If you already own a rifle, but have never taken formal training, consider FIRST Steps Rifle. It will give you a chance to dust off your “safe queen” and put some rounds downrange!
• Have some experience with a rifle, but want to build your skills? Consider Basic Rifle.
• Looking for more advanced training? Your Basic Rifle certificate is not a participation trophy. It demonstrates both skill and commitment. It proves that you take gun ownership seriously, and we can introduce you to some truly expert instructors who will appreciate meeting another serious shooter.
• Need help selecting a firearm? We can help you sort through your options to select the right gun for you.
• Individual instruction and “gun-cations” by special request.

Instructor Background

Hans Gehman began “plinking” (informal target practice) as a child.  He has hunted both native and invasive species since he was 12.  A state-certified armed guard, he is also an NRA-certified Law Enforcement Patrol Rifle instructor.  He has successfully completed both rifle and handgun courses offered through the NRA, Front Sight, Direct Action Tactical, and Storm Mountain Training Center.  He is a Flotilla Commander in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, and has trained with state and local police, Air Force Special Operations, Marines, Army Rangers, and Delta.  He holds a master’s degree in Homeland Security and a graduate certificate in Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) from The Pennsylvania State University.
