About Your Instructor
Hans Gehman has enjoyed time afloat since childhood. His uncles failed to get him on waterskis, but succeeded in keeping him safe and intrigued by the water. He learned to swim at twelve, first took the helm as a teenager, and completed American Red Cross Lifeguard training while attending Elizabethtown College. He recently rekindled his love of boating by joining the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, where he serves as a Flotilla Commander. His formal training with the Auxiliary has included Boating Skills & Seamanship, Marine Safety & Environmental Protection, Vessel Examination, Seamanship (AUXSEA), and the Instructor Development Course.
